Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the UM Global Studies Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Nationality: Hold citizenship in a Global South country and must not have dual citizenship with a Global North country.
2. Education Background: Have no previous degree-seeking experience in higher education in the Netherlands. However, students who completed exchange programs are eligible.
3. Age Limit: Be 35 years or younger as of September 1, 2025.
4. Commitment to Advocacy: Agree to serve as an ambassador for Global Studies and Maastricht University, participating in at least one information session or outreach activity during and after their studies.
5. Admission Requirement: Have applied or been conditionally accepted to Maastricht University’s Global Studies program for the 2025-2026 academic year.
